Pyle bounced back from a loss to Rory MacDonald in his last bout, taking out Ricardo Funch in just over a minute at UFC 142 in Brazil in January. The win was his fourth in his last five fights, and he's 5-3 overall in his UFC career.
Neer has had a bit of resurgence in his fourth stint with the UFC. After being released for a third time back in 2009, Neer won six of his next seven fights and got a call back to join the UFC's welterweight roster. In two bouts since his return, he's picked up stoppage wins over Keith Wisniewski and Duane Ludwig.
The June 8 event on FX will come the city voted on by fans in the UFC's Hometown Throwdown promotion. No headliner has yet been set for the card.
Penick's Analysis: This is a very fun matchup. Pyle is a very entertaining fighter to watch, and he'll bring the fight in each and every bout he gets. Neer has looked good in his two most recent fights, and this is a chance for him to take out a very tough challenge in Pyle. It's a good matchup for both and a fight that makes a lot of sense, and should be an entertaining fight for this card.
