UFC Heavyweight Title challenger Alistair Overeem was sentenced to 50 hours of community service on Tuesday and ordered to undergo anger management in regards to an incident at a nightclub in Las Vegas on New Year's weekend.

Overeem had been charged with battery from the incident, in which a woman accused him of shoving her. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Overeem also received a suspended 90-day jail sentence in addition to the community service and anger management requirements.

Should Overeem meet all of his conditions for community service and counseling, the case will be dismissed. He will appear in court again on Sept. 26.

Penick's Analysis: Most didn't expect Overeem to face much from this incident, and the community service and anger management isn't too much more than a slap on the wrist here. It was a he said/she said type of incident, and Overeem wasn't going to get much more than this. What it does mean is nothing to worry about in regards to his May fight with Junior dos Santos, not that there really was before.
