Fedor Emelianenko has fought in a number of different promotions from Japan to Russia and the United States, and India may be his next destination.

According to a report from Fighter's Only, the new India-based MMA promotion Super Fight League is targeting Emelianenko for an upcoming event. Nothing is near concrete, but both sides have expressed they'd be open to a working relationship if the terms were deemed acceptable.

"Fedor is definitely a fighter we would consider and would be honored to have fight in the SFL,? said SFL executive Ken Pavia. "Realists have to put him at the top of the pound-for-pound list given the longevity of his dominance. The participation of such a legend could only enhance an emerging fight promotion."

"We are of course flattered by Pavia's statement and if there are any concrete proposals for co-operation, Fedor and Vadim will of course seriously consider them," responded M-1 executive Evgeni Kogan.

Penick's Analysis: This is obviously far from anything being a done deal, but it would make sense as a destination for Fedor's next fight. M-1 hasn't announced plans for any imminent fight for him, and Bellator isn't going to pay him what M-1 would demand. The UFC isn't going to work with him as long as M-1 is in the picture, either, so he'll continue to be on the outskirts for now. I don't know who SFL would book against him, but it's really all dependent on what type of money they're willing to lay down for one fight.
