He'll try to make it four straight this June, as the UFC announced late Wednesday night that he will take on T.J. Waldburger at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City.
Ebersole's three UFC wins came against Lytle, Dennis Hallman, and Claude Patrick, all in 2011. In those fights, he came near stopping Lytle before taking a decision, he finished Hallman in the first round, and then pulled off a split decision in a tough, competitive fight against Patrick in December.
Waldburger made his UFC debut in September of 2010, and has now posted wins in three of his four appearances. After splitting his first two fights, Waldburger has now posted consecutive submission wins in the Octagon. Most recently, he pulled off a highly impressive armbar in the midst of a transition against Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 2.
Penick's Analysis: I like this fight; Waldburger's got some definite talent, and even though he's not the most well-rounded he's shown he can pull off some slick moves when the opportunity presents itself. He's also only 23-years-old, so he's got plenty of room for improvement. Ebersole's got a big experience edge on him, and will definitely be the favorite, but it's a solid test for each and a good addition to this card.
